Basel-Stadt: the cantonal system (lease-based hunting)
Basel-Stadt practises lease-based hunting, with competencies shared with Basel-Landschaft.
Basel-Stadt practises lease-based hunting (Revier system), within the framework set by the Federal Act on Hunting (LChP/JSG) and its implementing ordinance (OChP/JSV). As the cantonal territory is very limited, part of the operational competencies is shared with Basel-Landschaft via the Amt für Wald und Wild beider Basel, listed in the directory of the Conference of Heads of Environmental Protection Services (KVU). The residual rules specific to Basel-Stadt, interventions on wildlife in urban and peri-urban areas, as well as the precise leasehold conditions remain to be catalogued in detail: they are not yet covered in this directory and must be confirmed directly with the cantonal authorities before any application.
