The Nidwalden licence: twenty years old, and the rifle zeroed yourself
Five conditions, one of them having zeroed the hunting firearms you intend to use yourself.
Article 7 sets the regime: the right to hunt is granted under the licence system. The licence permits hunting for one season, in the licence category it names; it is personal and non-transferable, and the government may cap the number in light of the hunting plan. Article 9 lists five personal conditions: having turned 20 and having legal capacity; holding an aptitude certificate from a canton or an equivalent foreign one; being insured under federal requirements; having zeroed the hunting firearms to be used oneself; and not being under any hunting ban. The fourth condition is unusual: it is about an act, not a document. The licence is refused notably where, within the last five years, there has been a final conviction for an intentional hunting offence or intentional cruelty to animals, or where in the same period three or more negligent hunting offences or infringements have been established, or mistaken shots recorded.
