The lovecký lístek, and an open door for the visiting hunter
Three licence types exist; for a foreigner, a valid foreign hunting document counts as the Czech exam.
The hunting licence (lovecký lístek) is issued by the myslivost administration of the district where the applicant has permanent residence. For foreigners and for Czech citizens without permanent residence in Czechia, it is issued by the administration of the district where they are staying. The act recognises three types: for Czech citizens, for pupils and students of schools where myslivost is a course of study or a compulsory subject, and for foreigners. The licence goes only to someone who shows they are over sixteen, have legal capacity, have passed the myslivost examination — or the corresponding university examination, or are a pupil, student or graduate of a school teaching myslivost — and are of good standing. The clause that matters to a hunter coming from Switzerland is a short one: for a foreigner, a valid document issued abroad entitling the holder to hunt counts as proof of having passed the myslivost examination. The act further requires a valid firearms authorisation and insurance.
