Basel-Landschaft: the cantonal system (lease-based hunting)
Basel-Landschaft practises lease-based hunting, within the federal framework shared by Switzerland's 26 cantons.
Basel-Landschaft practises lease-based hunting (Revier system): hunting territories are allocated by lease to hunting associations, whose members then exercise the hunting right on the leased area, within the framework set by the Federal Act on Hunting (LChP/JSG) and its implementing ordinance (OChP/JSV). The competent service, the Amt für Wald und Wild beider Basel, is shared with Basel-Stadt and is listed in the directory of the Conference of Heads of Environmental Protection Services (KVU). The precise conditions in this canton — allocation of territories, lease duration, proficiency examination, hunting periods by species, game damage — remain to be catalogued in detail on the cantonal portal and do not yet appear in this directory. They must be verified directly with the service before any application.
